About the event
The compositions that will be presented at the concert were created between 2019-2023. The program consists of two parts. In the first part ORIENT - OCCIDENT (East - West) compositions with Catholic and Orthodox content are interwoven. The geographical location of Slovenia is at the crossroads of two cultures. East-Slavic and West-Roman. Composers created works that carry a touch of tradition and at the same time the sonority of today's times.
In the second part of ARISE, the old, sometimes mythological, is intertwined with the new. Through the dance of the dead to the afterlife, the bow from the curse that saves souls and spells against illness, we turn to the light, through pagan worship of the sun, songs about the sun in eight languages of different poets and religions, the morning dawn that heralds light, joy, love and peace. Sine sole nihil sum (We are nothing without the sun).
